Imagine Dragons delivered a show-stopping performance at their annual Tyler Robinson Foundation (TRF) Gala, an event held to support families affected by pediatric cancer.
Hosted at Wynn Las Vegas on September 20, 2024, the Grammy Award-winning band described it as their “most important concert of the year,” raising significant funds to back the cause.
But the highlight of the evening came in an unexpected form. A generous donor in the audience made an intriguing offer: $25,000 if the band performed Eminem’s iconic anthem, “Lose Yourself.” Although they’d never performed the song before, lead singer Dan Reynolds didn’t blink.
“‘Lose Yourself’? Oh, you have $25,000? Well, we’ve got to try! Don’t we?! We’ve never done this but for $25,000? Pediatric cancer? Let me untuck my shirt for this. I just want to be clear that we have never done this. But it’s $25,000. Oh, jeez, that’s a lot of lyrics,” Reynolds joked to the crowd.
Despite the challenge, Reynolds dove into the surprise performance and handled Eminem’s rapid-fire lyrics like a pro.
The spontaneous moment quickly became a fan favorite, and Imagine Dragons’ rendition of “Lose Yourself” was one of the most talked-about moments of the night. With a little help from Eminem’s legendary track, this spectacular night became even more unforgettable.
